I enjoy me some soft butter on toast. On everything really, as softer butter is easier to spread and just tastes better. During colder months this is never an issue but in warmer ones? Moldy butter anyone? I immediately ordered this typical french butter storage dish.
Instructions were provided and simple to follow: fill bottom bowl w water to the marked line. It’s a very visible black line which makes it easy. Then you need to fill the top with soft butter, invert it and place into bottom bowl. And viola! The magic of soft butter ALL SUMMER without any mold.
The price point isn’t cheap but it does function well and looks good while doing it. Plus they include a butter knife made for this container. It has different options for how to collect the butter. And while there is some effort required to fill it and to swap cool water every 5-7 days, it’s well worth it in my butter-loving world.
It’s a thing of beauty! Recommended.

I grew up leaving fresh butter on the counter but always hated the butter containers they sat in. This here is a perfect solution to keeping fresh butter fresh and from being messy. I change out the water every few days. This hold exactly one stick of butter. It also comes with a nice little butter knife. The quality it great and definitely worth the money.

I’ve never had a butter dish like this, but after using this product, I’ll never go back to the standard one! Not only is my butter softer and fresher, but the dish itself gives an old-fashioned aesthetic to my kitchen. I love that it comes with its own knife. It is easy to clean as well. It holds about 3/4 of a stick of butter at a time. Simply pour your water up to the waterline. Place your butter in the top and then the top onto the dish. The water is what’s going to keep the butter soft and fresh. I’ve never used a butter dish like this before, but I’m so glad that I purchased this one.

I really like this butter crock! It’s well-made from high-quality ceramic and has a nice, solid feel to it. The included small butter knife is a thoughtful addition. I like that it’s dishwasher safe — a big plus for easy cleaning. Overall, it’s both functional and stylish. Highly recommend!

I have wanted a butter bell for a long time and actually ordered a different one a few months ago, but I dropped and broke it as I removed it from the package (d’oh!). I managed to hold onto this one successfully and am happy to report that this butter bell is exactly what I hoped it would be. It is a great way to keep butter at room temperature so that it is soft and easy to spread, and it look very attractive on my kitchen counter and on my dining room table. This butter bell has some heft to it–it is a well-made ceramic piece that I expect will hold up well over the years to come. I also really appreciate that it is dishwasher safe! That makes clean up even easier.

Wow! Just wow! My grandmother used a similar setup back in the early 60”s. It was a contraption using some old dinnerware but it worked.
This is sure to be a conversation piece when you point out the room temperature butter on the table. What a pleasure to butter your bread with a spreadable butter instead of a hard yellow lump.
I used distilled water in the reservoir since I had some on the counter. I don’t think it makes a difference but it seemed like a good idea.
After 10 days, the butter still seems good. I would only use salted butter in this, due to the longer shelf life.

I saw one of these on Pinterest and had to have it as I was tired of waiting for my butter to soften OR putting it in the microwave and it splatters all over the place. This butter crock is very well built and very heavy, was super surprised by that! The design is minimal and looks great on my kitchen counter. The design makes it so it goes with any kitchen decor really.
Its so easy so use and keeps my butter fresh and soft. The inside of the base has a line to mark how much water should be put in the crock. It held about 2/3 of a stick of butter which is plenty. Even with the butter and water in the crock is seals well so I don’t have to worry about bugs possibly getting into it.
Cleaning it is pretty simple too. I’m pretty sure it would be fine in my dishwasher but I wash it by hand as, like I mentioned earlier, it’s a pretty heavy item and I don’t want it to knock into something else in the wash and chip/break it.
Overall, super happy with this item, would absolutely recommend.
